Our Life Members represent some of the people who have made an exceptional and lasting contribution to ECB. Their service has helped shape our culture, strengthen our teams and create the club we are today.

WHAT IS LIFE MEMBERSHIP?
Life Membership is one of the highest honours East Coast Bays Hockey Club can bestow. It recognises individuals who have made an exceptional and lasting contribution to ECB through playing, coaching, administration, leadership, volunteering or service to the club.

OUR LIFE MEMBERS
Ev Miller
Life Member
Ev Miller has been one of the most influential figures in East Coast Bays Hockey Club’s history. Joining ECB in 1974, Ev coached the Premier team from 1975 to 1995 and played a major role in developing the club and its players. She was also instrumental in the 2000 amalgamation that created the modern ECB and continued contributing to the club for many years.
Kevin McPheat
Life Member
Kevin McPheat has been a central figure in ECB’s men’s hockey history for more than two decades. A founding member of Ariel Hockey Club and heavily involved in its eventual amalgamation with East Coast Bays, Kevin has contributed as a player, coach and leader. He has represented North Harbour and continues to be recognised as an important contributor to ECB and hockey in the region.
Elizabeth Yurjevic
Life Member
Elizabeth Yurjevic has made a significant contribution to East Coast Bays Hockey Club through leadership and service to the club. As one of ECB’s early leaders, Elizabeth helped shape the club during an important period of its development. Her contribution forms part of the strong foundation of people whose commitment and service have helped ECB grow into the club it is today.
Lynn Miller
Life Member · 2019
Lynn Miller has given more than a decade of dedicated service to East Coast Bays, contributing as a fundraiser, coach, manager and volunteer. She coached and managed ECB teams across multiple levels and was also involved with North Harbour Junior Hockey. Lynn’s commitment to developing players and supporting the club earned her Life Membership in 2019.
Jo Watton
Life Member · 2019
Jo Watton has been a long-standing contributor to East Coast Bays, combining service to the club with leadership and involvement in hockey. She was instrumental in the 2000 amalgamation that brought the men’s and women’s clubs together to form ECB and later served as club president. Her commitment and continuity of service have made her an important part of the ECB story.
Campbell Stewart
Life Member · 2019
Campbell Stewart has been an important contributor to East Coast Bays both on and off the field. A representative-level player who has played for North Harbour, Campbell was also involved in the 2000 amalgamation that created ECB. His long-standing commitment to the club and contribution to its men’s hockey programme have made him a valued part of ECB’s history.
Caroline Birdsall

Carol Birdsall has provided outstanding leadership and service to East Coast Bays Hockey Club. A long-standing club contributor, Caroline has served in key leadership roles including President and Treasurer, helping provide stability and direction for ECB. Her commitment to the club has continued across many years particularly in helping develop the youth development programme, making her an important part of ECB’s leadership and ongoing development.
Tracey Collins
Life Member · 2021
Tracey Collins has made a significant contribution to East Coast Bays through her service, leadership and commitment to the club. Her involvement has included leadership at club level, culminating in her service as ECB President. Tracey’s contribution reflects the commitment of the volunteers and leaders who have helped strengthen ECB and create opportunities for generations of players.
Brad Montgomerie

Brad Montgomerie has been a long-standing contributor to East Coast Bays, particularly through men’s hockey and club leadership. A representative-level player and current ECB Masters Club Captain, Brad has remained closely involved with the club across many years. His continued commitment to playing, supporting teams and contributing to club life has earned him a place among ECB’s Life Members.
Michelle Fletcher

Michelle Fletcher has provided exceptional service and continuity to East Coast Bays Hockey Club, particularly through administration and financial leadership. She was instrumental in the 2000 amalgamation that created ECB and served as club Treasurer for more than a decade. Her long-standing commitment behind the scenes has helped provide the strong organisational foundation on which ECB has continued to grow.
Judy Buntain

Judy Buntain has been a dedicated contributor to East Coast Bays across many years, supporting the club through playing, team involvement and service to ECB. Her long-standing commitment is reflected in her inclusion among the club’s notable contributors and her Life Membership in 2024. Judy’s contribution represents the volunteer spirit and loyalty that have helped make ECB the club it is today.
